Miami is in position to do something no major college football team has done in nine years.
Unless there's some substantial shifting in polls over the next month, the Hurricanes will become only the third team in at least the last 15 seasons to open with four consecutive opponents ranked in the AP Top 25.
When Notre Dame did it nine years ago, Irish officials said they could only find one other instance of such a schedule abnormality - and that was Central Florida doing it the previous season.
The arduous opening stretch for Miami starts next Monday at No. 18 Florida State.
Indiana coach Bill Lynch suspended defensive tackle Deonte Mack and linebacker Ian Reeves on Sunday and will hold them out of Thursday night's season opener against Eastern Kentucky.
Lynch said in a statement issued by the athletic department that both players violated team rules. He did not elaborate.
Mack, a junior, started nine games last season and finished with 21 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks and one fumble recovery. He has played in 23 games over the past two seasons after redshirting in 2006.

We know the rules," Rodriguez said, "and we follow the rules,"
At a news conference in Ann Arbor, Rodriguez became emotional and had to gather himself several times with glassy eyes as he denied any wrongdoing.
College Football Conference To Wear Stickers To Honor McNair
Southwestern Athletic Conference Commissioner Duer Sharp says all 10 league teams will wear a helmet sticker this season in memory of Steve McNair.
The No. 9 sticker commemorates what McNair did to raise the visibility of the conference while playing at Alcorn State. He finished third in Heisman Trophy voting and brought national attention to Lorman, Miss., before becoming the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL draft.
The 36-year-old Mount Olive native was killed July 4 in a murder-suicide committed by Sahel Kazemi, in Nashville, Tenn.
