Cincinnati NCAA Mens College Basketball Basketball Signee Agrees To Plea

Cincinnati signee Lance Stephenson was ordered to perform three days of community service as part of his plea agreement to resolve a case in which he was accused of groping a 17-year-old girl, the New York Daily News reported.
Stephenson, the top scorer in New York state high school basketball history, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and agreed to counseling. He had faced up to six months in jail on the misdemeanor sexual assault charge.

The next chapter of Isiah Thomas' coaching career will start amid familiar territory for the Hall of Famer: the Big Ten.

FIU's new coach is prepping to debut Nov. 9 at Ohio State in the opening round of a Coaches vs. Cancer tournament. The matchup has been in the works for months and is expected to be formally announced later this summer. Thomas - a Chicago native who grew up watching and eventually playing in the Big Ten - says it'll add extra significance to his first night with the Golden Panthers.

Butler forward Gordon Hayward drove for a loud baseline dunk to break a late fourth-quarter tie, and his clutch foul shooting kept the United States safe in a breathtaking 81-77 semifinal victory over Croatia at the FIBA U-19 World Championships at Auckland, New Zealand.

Hayward scored seven of his team-high 15 points in the final 4 minutes as the U.S. rallied from a four-point deficit to win its eighth game without a defeat. The Americans remain the only unbeaten team in the tournament and will play Greece in the championship game at 3:30 a.m. ET Sunday.
