Ex Duke NCAA Mens College Basketball Player Tranfeering To Memphis
Former Duke basketball player Elliot Williams says he'll transfer to the University of Memphis. Williams, a rising sophomore guard, was granted his release Wednesday from Duke because his mom is sick.
He told The Commercial-Appeal on Saturday that he's planning to transfer to Memphis, in his hometown, because being closer to his family is the most important thing. It was one of the four schools he'd been considering, along with Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Tennessee.
Marquette Mens College Basketball Player To Skip Senior Season
Marquette guard Maurice Acker will skip his final year of eligibility because he's on track to graduate in December.
Coach Buzz Williams said in a statement Thursday that Acker is one semester short of completing his degree and they agreed it was in his best interest to make that his priority.
University Of Kentucky Mens College Basketball Program Ready To Move On Lawsuit
The University of Kentucky Athletics Association says former Kentucky basketball coach Billy Gillispie has sued the wrong people and in the wrong place.

The athletics association has asked a federal judge in Texas to either dismiss Gillispie's lawsuit over his firing or move the case to Kentucky. In a motion filed Friday in federal court, the association's attorneys say the school has minimum contact with the state of Texas, giving the court there no jurisdiction to hear Gillispie's claims.
Former Universtiy Of Michigan NCAA Mens College Basketball Coach Named GW Assistant
Former Michigan coach Brian Ellerbe is returning to the bench after an eight-year absence. Ellerbe was hired Thursday as an assistant at George Washington, joining the staff of head coach Karl Hobbs.

Ellerbe was fired in 2001 after four years with the Wolverines. He took the team to the NCAA tournament in his first season in Michigan, but the team slumped over the following three years and his final record was 62-60 - only 26-38 in the Big Ten.
